This Privacy Policy explains what information SpecAura collects when you use our website and build configurator at specaura.co, how we use it, and the choices you have. SpecAura (“SpecAura,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an independent visualization tool operated by an individual based in Washington, United States. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and our launch waitlist.

Email address. When you join our waitlist or save a build, you voluntarily provide your email address so we can notify you about launches and send you your build link.
Usage & device data. When you visit, our analytics tools automatically collect standard technical information such as your browser type, device, approximate location (derived from IP), pages viewed, referring site, and how you interact with the configurator.
Session activity. We use a session-analytics tool that may record interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and navigation to help us understand how the configurator is used and improve it.
IP address. Our servers briefly process your IP address to rate-limit form submissions and prevent spam and abuse. It is held only transiently in memory for this purpose and is not stored in a database by us.
Local storage. We store a small flag in your browser to remember that you’ve already subscribed (so we don’t ask again), and your build configuration may be encoded in a shareable link. This data lives on your device and in the link itself, not on our servers.

We do not collect payment information, and we do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal information.

How We Use Your Information

To notify you when builds, models, or features go live, and to send your saved build link.
To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and configurator.
To understand how the site is used and prioritize improvements.
To prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms.
To comply with legal obligations.

Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on a small set of trusted service providers (“processors”) to deliver the site. These providers process data on our behalf and have their own privacy policies:

Beehiiv — email/newsletter platform that stores your email address and sends our messages. Privacy policy

Google Analytics 4 — website usage analytics; sets cookies and processes usage data. Privacy policy

Microsoft Clarity — session analytics and engagement recordings. Privacy policy

Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions; processes request logs including IP addresses. Privacy policy

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Cookies & Tracking

Our analytics providers (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) use cookies and similar technologies to recognize your browser and measure usage. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; doing so will not prevent you from using the configurator. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Email & Marketing

If you join our waitlist, we’ll email you about SpecAura launches and updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. You can also email us to be removed.

Data Retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed or until you ask us to delete it. Analytics data is retained according to the providers’ default retention periods. Rate-limiting IP data is transient and is not retained.

Your Rights & Choices

You can request to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe at any time, by emailing us at the address below.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object. Our legal basis for processing your email is your consent (which you can withdraw at any time) and our legitimate interest in operating the site.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information.

Children’s Privacy

SpecAura is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Security & International Transfers

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including keeping API keys on the server and never exposing them to the browser. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Our service providers are located in the United States, so your information is processed in the U.S.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
